Produce George in high court Monday, wife told

The Delhi high court on Thursday directed former defence minister George Fernandes’ wife to produce the 80-year-old leader before it on Monday to ascertain what the ailing leader wants before deciding on a dispute between her and his brothers.

Justice V.K. Shali directed Ms Leila Kabir to produce Mr Fernandes, now suffering from Alzheimer’s, before him at 4 pm on July 5.
The court sought his presence after hearing a petition by two of his brothers, Richard and Michael, seeking his custody, claiming Ms Kabir was not treating him properly.
Mr Fernandes’ brothers asked for the setting up of a medical board to assess his health, and also sought the court’s permission to shift him to his 3 Krishna Menon Marg official residence from his wife’s Panchsheel Park house.
