Radia meets CBI chief, claims threat to her life
Corporate lobbyist Niira Radia on Wednesday met CBI director A.P. Singh and complained him about a lawyer who has allegedly attempted to threaten her.
According to sources, the lawyer allegedly wrote a letter to her warning that he “will expose her”. Sources, without divulging the contents of the alleged threat letter, said “the so-called threat does not pertain to the 2G spectrum scam or her role in it”.
Ms Radia, prosecution witness number 44 in the 2G scam case, met Mr Singh at his North Block office for nearly 15 minutes. Sources said Ms Radia reportedly produced a copy of the letter which was addressed to the CBI director during the meeting.
The CBI has not received any such letter so far and it could be aimed at harassing her, sources said. She has been advised to inform Delhi police, sources added.
The agency is likely to file the second supplementary chargesheet in the 2G scam case in the first week of July.
Sources further said the agency has found nothing about her involvement in the 2G scam so far but she has not yet been cleared and her role in some “peripheral” issues is still being probed by the CBI as well the Enforcement Directorate (ED). She might be called for questioning again, sources added.
