Raghubir arrested in Mumbai
Bollywood actor Raghubir Yadav who was reportedly missing after an arrest warrant was issued against him, was arrested at the Mumbai Central railway station on Friday night, after his estranged wife alerted the police.
Yadav’s wife Purnima had dragged him to the court seeking maintenance after they got separated in 1996. The Bandra family court had issued a warrant against him on September 19 2009, as the actor had failed to appear before the court despite summons. However, the actor was untraceable after an arrest warrant was issued against him. “It was a coincidence as his wife was travelling in the same train (Rajdhani Express) in which Raghubir was coming to Mumbai. After the train arrived at Mumbai Central, Purnima alerted us about the arrest warrant issued against him. We verified the warrant and detained him. He was then handed over to the Dindoshi police station,” said Mr Bharat Rane, senior inspector at the Mumbai Central railway police station.
“We have arrested Yadav and he will be produced before the family court on Saturday,” said police inspector Vinayak M. Kakade from the Dindoshi police station.
Yadav won a clutch of international awards for the film Massey Saheb and has acted in several television serials and theatre productions.
