Rahul draws 68,198 ‘fans’ on Facebook

Among the country’s top politicians, AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi appears the most popular on the Internet. The young leader has an ever-increasing fan base on the social networking website Facebook, with 68,198 followers. In this, he has beaten PM Manmohan Singh, veteran BJP leader L.K. Advani and even his mother Sonia Gandhi.

Dr Singh, with 48,138 fans, comes second, Mrs Gandhi, with 5,582 fans, is third, while Mr Advani has a following of only 1,638 people.
Rahul Gandhi’s Facebook account, which the Congress claims was not created by him, has 5,009 friends listed. It has photographs and videos, plus regular updates. Mr Gandhi’s sister Priyanka Vadra also has a fan page, with 17,469 people listed as followers.
