Rahul for manifesto by people
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is in favour of seeking people’s views in formulating the party’s manifesto for Lok Sabha election.
According to an agency report based on sources, in one of the closed-door meetings with party leaders recently, Mr Gandhi said the party must incorporate what the people want in the manifesto and it should be finalised by seeking their views and not sitting in offices. “It should have the involvement of people,” Mr Gandhi is learnt to have said.
Meanwhile, attacking Mr Narendra Modi for “stalling” appointment of the Gujarat lokayukta, the Congress on Saturday accused him of acting like Hitler and said his “double game” has been exposed by the Supreme Court order.
Mr Modi’s “hyped self-righteousness and the hypocrisy of the BJP “ have been exposed, party spokesperson Raj Babbar told reporters at the AICC briefing. “The Supreme Court through its five-judge bench order has exposed those pretending to be clean and practising otherwise.
“It is now expected that the subversion drama enacted by Mr Modi by consistently playing the double game of pitching for a Lokpal at the Centre and simultaneously stalling appointment of lokayukta in Gujarat will come to an end,” he said.
