Rahul’s elevation will help Cong in 2014 polls: Dikshit

The elevation of Rahul Gandhi as Congress vice president will immensely help the Congress in the 2014 general elections, Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit said today.

“Of course, (it will help),” she told reporters here when asked about 42-year-old Gandhi’s elevation at the party’s Jaipur Chintan Shivir.

She said her government would follow Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s instructions on the issue of safety of women.

Dikshit said at the Jaipur conclave, the issue of women’s safety was discussed seriously.
