Rahul skips LK b’day party, visits in office

AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday met BJP parliamentary party chairman L.K. Advani to convey birthday wishes to the veteran BJP leader. Congress chief Sonia Gandhi also wished the senior BJP leader.

Mr Advani’s birthday was on Monday, but due to US President’s Barack Obama’s speech in Parliament Mr Advani’s birthday was celebrated on Tuesday, for which both Mr Gandhi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi were invited.
“Yesterday Sonia Gandhi and Rahul had tea in Advani’s Parliament office after US President Barack Obama left. There Pratibha (Advani’s daughter) told them that Advani ji is celebrating his birthday tomorrow and invited them to the function,” Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj said, adding that since the Congress chief could not make it, Mr Gandhi came to wish Mr Advani at his Parliament chamber.
