Railways ready to provide jobs to kin of deceased: Mukul Roy
Railway Minister Mukul Roy on Tuesday said Railways was ready to provide employment to the next of the kin of those killed in the rail mishap at Penakonda in Andhra Pradesh.
"It is a very sad incident. Life is very precious. Nineteen people have died and 35 are in hospital. If anybody (kin) wants to join the railways, we will provide him or her with jobs," he told reporters at Bengaluru International Aiport en route to the accident spot.
"I am going to the spot. Railways is trying to introduce TPW (Train Protection warning) system. It is the most advanced system. Rescue and relief operations are already on", he said.
Minister of state for Railways K. H. Muniyappa is accompanying Roy along with a team of Railway officials.
Twenty five passengers were killed and over 40 injured when the Bangalore-bound Hampi Express rammed into a stationary goods train in Anantapur district in the wee hours.
