Raja case: CBI, ED share aide details
The CBI, which is probing 2G spectrum, is sharing details with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding the bank transaction details of Chennai-based Green House Promoters and its owner, Sadiq Bacha, who is an associate of former telecom minister A. Raja.
According to sources bank transaction details are being shared following the allegations that Raja and his family members have alleged stakes in the company. The agency has already questioned Sadiq Bacha in this regard, sources added.
Sources said, “One of Raja’s nephew was reportedly the joint managing director of Green House Promoters. The company is reportedly one of the front company’s in the 2G scam. Green House was formed barely four months after Raja became a Cabinet minister (in charge of Environment and Forests) for the first time in May 2004. Three years later, in February 2007 his wife, M.A. Parameswari, reportedly joined the company’s board as a director.”
“The ED officials have gathered some information about bank transaction details of Green House Promoters and also about Bacha. The CBI is basically probing the alleged interest of the family members of Raja in Green House, if any,” sources said. This is the reason that CBI officials are sharing details with the ED officials, sources added.
