A Raja coming to Tamil Nadu Tomorrow
DMK heir-apparent M.K. Stalin met, on Wednesday night, 2G scam accused A. Raja, who was earlier in the day allowed by a CBI special court to visit his home state Tamil Nadu for three weeks.
There was no official word on what transpired at the 15-minute meeting at Mr Raja’s house, attended by Stalin’s wife Durga and several DMK MPs.
Stalin had met Raja a couple of times when the former telecom minister was lodged at Tihar Jail. The two men are said to be close.
There was speculation that Stalin would also call on Congress president Sonia Gandhi to convey views of his father and DMK president M. Karunanidhi on the candidates for the coming Presidential poll.
Stalin was accorded a rousing reception at the airport by DMK MPs T.R. Baalu, A.K.S. Elangovan, Kanimozhi, Dhayanaidhi Maran, Ritiesh, Jeyadurai, Thamarai Selvan, K.P. Ramalingam and ministers of state Palani Manickam and Gandhi Selvan.
In Chennai, Raja’s followers are arranging a massive celebration at the airport to receive him when he lands from Delhi on Friday evening. It would be his maiden visit to the home state after his arrest.
