Rajasthan Cong takes steps to tackle dissidents
In a bid to get rid of factionalism and indiscipline, the Congress high command adopted a tough posture against the disgruntled leaders and ministers. AICC general secretary in-charge Gurudas Kamat warned the disgruntled leaders saying that there was no dearth of leaders.
The Congress has been planning to organise big rallies to be addressed by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
Sources said a strong message has been sent out by Delhi to the dissidents and disgruntled elements to fall in line and follow the discipline or face action. It was evident at the state-level office-bearers meeting on Monday and subsequently a district-wise feedback meeting on Tuesday in Jaipur. The dissident and disgruntled leaders wear caught unaware when Mr Kamat directed them to maintain discipline.
Sources said there was a resentment against the ministers and district presidents and several leaders have been at loggerheads in their respective districts. The party in-charge Kamat gave a patience hearing to the ministers, MPs, MLAs and workers during the two-day exercise of gathering feedback.
