Rajasthan MLA’s son shot dead
Tension gripped Ajmer city and marble town of Kishangarh after Bhanwar Sinodia’s body, the son of a ruling Congress MLA Nathuram Sinodia, was found in a vehicle near Jaipur on Thursday. He was shot dead after abduction on Wednesday in Ajmer district’s Roopangarh. Mr Sinodia represents Kishangarh constituency in the state Assembly.
The police has arrested two suspects — Sikandar and Shahzad — who were allegedly involved in the abduction and killing of Bhanwar. But main suspect Balvaram Jat is still missing. The police launched a man hunt to arrest Jat and one of his accomplish.
Chief minister Ashok Gehlot visited Mr Sinodia’ village to console the bereaved family. The chief minister reviewed the situation in a high-level meeting and directed to take strong action against the culprits. The government had handed over the investigations to the Special Operation Group. The state government has also decided to provide security officers to all MPs and MLAs. According to the police, it was the matter of land dispute which led to the abduction and murder of the MLA’s son. The police described main suspect Jat as a “history sheeter”. The victim signed a land deal in Roopangarh while Jat occupied the land and refused to vacate the land. The Youth Congress workers organised a total strike in Ajmer and Kishangarh on Thursday. The shops and business establishments remained closed. The Opposition BJP also condemned the incident.
