Rajiv case convicts to take Plus-2 exam
Perarivalan and Sriharan (alias) Murugan, death convicts in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, will appear for Plus-2 public examinations as private candidates.
The two high risk prisoners, who have been undergoing imprisonment in Vellore Central Prison for Men, along with six other convicts, have applied for Plus-2 examination to the directorate of education as private candidates.
The education department had accepted the application of the convicts. “Eight convicts, including Perarivalan and Sriharan, applied for public examination. While Perarivalan and Sriharan will attend the examinations here, six others will appear for the examination in Puzhal prison in Chennai,” said superintendent of Vellore Central Prison for Men N. Arivudainambe.
He added that the two had completed MCA through distance education programme of Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou). They have submitted the project report and waiting for the result, he added.
“The directorate of education has directed to grant permission for examination centre at Vellore prison. As per the direction, we will conduct the examination on the prison campus.
