Rajya Sabha Chairman loses his cool
New Delhi: With nearly a week of the 16-day Monsoon Session getting washed out, Chairman of Rajya Sabha Hamid Ansari lost his cool when the House assembled on Tuesday morning.
As soon as the House assembled, Opposition BJP demanded that the question hour be suspended to discuss the murky deals that involved Robert Vadra, son-in-law of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
Even as the Chairman was trying to put his point across pleading that the question hour should go through, law-makers from Andhra Pradesh raised slogans and displayed posters in favour of United AP.
All this irked the chairman who gave a piece of his mind to the law-makers. He said all the rules in the rule-books were being flouted. He shouted at the members to maintain decency and said law-makers are supposed to legislate and not display banners.
Countering the sudden outburst from the chair, a livid BJP tried to shout down the chairman prompting him to adjourn the House till 12 noon.
