Ramdev attacks Cong over kabaddi

After team Anna its turn of yoga guru Baba Ramadev to score even with the Congress Party. The yoga guru on Friday charged the Congress of trying to crush age-old games and values of the country.
Making a politically loaded statement at the on going kabbadi world cup in Punjab, he lashed out at the Congress. State Congress president Amrinder Singh had earlier ridiculed SAD for spending extravagantly on this event, instead of focusing on real issues. Referring to this stance yoga guru said that the Congress is opposed to all traditional things, “the opposition of kabbadi world cup shows their mindset”.
The sudden appearance of Baba Ram Dev in kabbadi arena on Friday is not without any political purpose. The yoga guru who is touring Punjab heaped praises on the Punjab government. He said that the Punjab government was leading the country by promoting a traditional sport like kabbadi on such a large scale, thereby creating number of employment opportunities for the young kabbadi players. He said that its is important to promote traditional sports like kabbadi and wrestling to save the younger generation from the dragon of drugs besides encouraging them to adopt sports for their healthier future also.
Replying a query regarding criticism of the world cup by the Congress, he said that those who were opposing kabbadi, themselves never promoted any sports culture, thereby taking India to all times low on sports front.
Baba Ram Dev, who is touring Punjab, has openly announced in his speeches that if the centre fails to meet his demands he would leave no stone unturned to campaign against the Congress.
