Ramdev in hospital, says won’t break fast
Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Saturday met Baba Ramdev and joined the chorus of appeals to him to end his eight-day fast against corruption even as the government said it is not engaged in any “backdoor” talks with the yoga guru.
Ramdev (46), who is being treated by doctors at the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences after his condition deteriorated on Friday, remained adamant and showed no signs of ending his fast. Doctors said Ramdev’s condition was “stable” but his continuously falling BP and pulse rate are a matter of concern. “Just to prevent him from slipping into a coma we have requested swamiji for oral feeding,” a doctor at the hospital said.
