'Ramdev should accept probe'

Dehra Dun: Congress MLAs in Uttarakhand on Friday asked yoga guru Baba Ramdev to request the Centre and the state government for a CBI probe into his property.

In a joint letter, Kishor Upadhyay, Dinesh Agrawal, Kedar Singh Rawat and Jot Singh Gunsola said his property and wealth is increasing very fast raising doubts in the minds of people including sadhus and his followers, besides the politicians.

"You should yourself come forward to make a request in writing to the Centre and the Uttarakhand government for an investigation by CBI and clear the doubts regarding the source of funding for your activities," said the letter.

While talking to reporters, the MLAs said Baba only possessed a cycle just a decade ago and now he has accumulated property worth crores of rupees.

The Congress leaders said they have also written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh urging him to order a CBI investigation into the Baba's riches.
