Rani's brother held for molestation

The Versova police on Monday arrested Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee's brother Raja, for allegedly molesting a woman. The incident took place on Sunday night when the complainant, a 40-year-old woman, who is also a television actress, had gone to meet Rani to narrate a script.

According to the complaint filed by the woman, she had tried to get in touch with Rani, but could not get an appointment.
She finally got in touch with her brother Raja, who agreed to give her an audience. However, when she met Raja in his car to narrate the script, he tried to behave indecently with her and also attempted to molest her, she has alleged.

“The complainant approached the police and a complaint was filed, following which we arrested Raja. We have booked him under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code,“ said additional commissioner of police, Vishwas NangrePatil. Following the arrest, Raja was sent for a medical test. He was later produced in an Andheri court on Monday that released him on a bail bond of `10,000.
Raja is also a small-time producer.

When contacted, the spokesperson for Rani said that the family doesn't want to comment on the development.
