Rape victim kin cut accused nose, beat him to death

Enraged family members of a rape victim waylaid an alleged rape accused, Shankar Jat, on Friday night in Bhilwara and beat him to death. The police arrested one person for murdering Shankar Jat, who had been named in the FIR for rape and abduction of the victim. The assailants also cut off the man’s nose and badly damaged his ears.

According to the police, the incident occurred on Friday night at Subhash Nagar locality in Bhilwara when the rape victim’s father and father and brother waylaid the rape accused and his cousin Kishan Jat at Sanganeri gate in Bhilwara and forcefully boarded them on a four-wheeler. The police said Shankar and Kishan were taken to the outskirts of Bhilwara and were lodged in a room where Shankar was beaten to death. According to the police, when Shankar succumbed to his injuries, the assailants took the dead body and dropped it at a secluded place on the road.
