Rape victim made to strip by cop

A 14-year-old girl, who went to a police station to file a rape complaint, was humiliated by a senior police officer in Kushinagar district and also forced to strip.

According to the girl, she had gone on Saturday to the police station with her parents to file a report on her alleged rape by a local resident when the police station in-charge, Jais Raj Yadav, allegedly made her strip claiming he wanted to check if she was sexually assaulted.
The girl said: “He took me into a room and closed the door and then asked me to remove my clothes”.
The cop also allegedly abused the girl and her parents and chased them away without filing a first information report (FIR).
The family later filed a complaint against the cop with the circle officer and the rape complaint was finally registered. The accused has now been arrested. The superintendent of police has ordered a probe against the cop.
