Rathore’s pension is stopped
Former Haryana DGP S.P.S. Rathore’s pension has been withheld completely from Wednesday. Rathore, in jail after his conviction in the Ruchika Girhotra molestation case, was earlier stripped of his police medals. The home ministry said the Centre decided to withhold Rathore’s pension after Chandigarh’s CJM convicted the 1965
batch retired IPS officer.
Home minister P. Chidamb-aram said the decision to permanently withhold Rathore’s pension was taken after consultations with the UPSC. The home ministry had written to the UPSC and the ministry of personnel seeking their views on discontinuing the pension and other post-retirement benefits to Rath-ore.
