Rave party: Cops summon revellers

The Juhu police has started issuing summons to 86 detainees of the Oakwood rave party bust who tested positive for consumption of drugs.
They are being called in batches of five to six so that the police can also question them at length regarding the source of the drugs.
According to the Juhu police, the procedure of issuing summons began on Saturday, after it received a court order to the effect. “We have started summoning the detainees in batches of five to six every day. They will be booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and will be released on bail once we have finished recording their statements,” said Pratap Dighavkar, deputy commissioner of police, zone 9.
The detainees are being given a week’s time to present themselves at the police station after receiving the summons.

The police which had been deployed there used tear gas shells and fired in air to disperse the protesters.
