Raw sambar meat seized from government officers in Arunachal
Twelve people, including some government officers, have been arrested after 18 kg of raw sambar meat was seized from their possession at Seijosa in East Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh. The meat was seized by forest officials of Pakke Wildlife Sanctuary and Tiger Reserve on Sunday, Divisional forest officer, Mr Tana Tapi said on Monday. The 12 people were arrested under the Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972, he said. They were produced in a court and later released on bail with a surety bond of Rs 60,000 and with a condition that they will appear before the court or DFO every 15 days at their own cost till the completion of the investigation.
