Art of Living (AoL) founder and spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shanker has offered his 'good intentions and services' to the Pakistan government and said that he was ready to broker peace between the Pakistan government and Taliban.

Back from a trip to Pakistan, Sri Sri told IANS that during his trip to Pakistan, he "could feel the urge in the Pakistan masses to find peace and get over violence".

Moved by the successive terrorist attacks and the emotional welcome and send off he got at the AoL camps in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, the spiritual guru said he would be the happiest if any efforts by him could bring peace to the strife torn Pakistan.

"There is a lot of violence in Pakistan and people are fed up, they want to live peacefully. If I could be of any help in bringing an end to the vicious cycle of violence, I am ready to talk to the Taliban," Sri Sri said.

In fact, he added, as a spiritual guru, he was duty bound to bring peace to the world and he would leave no effort untried in doing so.

In Lucknow, for a Satsang attended by over a lakh people at the Police Lines, recalling his Pakistan trip, Sri Sri said he was overwhelmed at the response he got to his meditational techniques in Pakistan and added that at the end of it, it was all about "universal stress."

"We are all sufferers of stress, tension, violence and hatred - and small ways of easing out are all that you need," he mused while discussing his experience with the Pakistani people. "I am sure," he added, "that in times to come better sense would prevail on all who were involved in violence and that peace would prevail everywhere."

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
