Realtor says Rs 6.7 crore belongs to Balasai
A city-based realtor claimed on Thursday that the Rs.6.70 crore that was abandoned by an autorickshaw driver in front of the DGP’s office at Saifabad on Wednesday belonged to the Sri Balasai Central Trust.
Tummalapalli Rama Rao, the realtor, claimed that he was a member of the trust and the money had been withdrawn from a bank to buy land in Mysore to construct an ashram.
“Mr Rama Rao came to the police station in the afternoon claiming that he had withdrawn the money and was transporting it on behalf of the Sri Balasai Central Trust,” said Saifabad ACP K.V. Ramnarsimha Reddy.
Central Zone DCP Tarun Joshi confirmed Rama Rao’s claim that only Rs.4.98 crore was withdrawn from a bank.
