Rebels can’t vote, BSY all set to win
Bengaluru, Oct. 13: As Karnataka’s first saffron government prepared for its second coming, a nervous B.S. Yeddyurappa government stepped up its attack on the Governor, Mr H.R. Bhardwaj, who in turn, withstood pressure from an even more nervous Opposition leader, Mr H.D. Kumaraswamy. to call off the fresh trust vote.
Meanwhile, rejecting the pleas of the five independent MLAs for staying their disqualification and allowing them to vote in sealed covers, the Karnataka High Court ordered that Thursday’s trust vote would be subject to the final decision on the writ petition filed by them. The disqualified MLAs will also not be able to participate in the floor test. If the Court on Monday upholds the Speaker's decision on disqualification then the status quo after Thursday’s vote may remain.
