Red corner notice against 2 Pak majors for 26/11 role
Interpol red corner notices have been issued against five Pakistani nationals, including two serving Pakistan Army majors, for their alleged role in the 26/11 terror attack and for plotting to carry out more strikes in India.
The notices have been issued against Illyas Kashmiri, Major Sameer Ali, Major Iqbal, Abdur Rehman Hashim, alias Pasha, and Sajid Majid, alias Sajid Mir, following a request from India. The names of these five Pakistani nationals had been included in the dossiers sent by India to Pakistan seeking action against the perpetrators of the Mumbai attack.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is probing the role of Pakistani-American LeT operative David Coleman Headley in India, had approached the court of additional sessions judge, Delhi, which issued non-bailable warrants against the five Pakistanis. The court issued the warrants after the NIA submitted a report on the interrogation of Headley by its official in Chicago in June this year. India has also sent proof and requests for similar warrants against LeT commander Zarar Shah and Abu Al Qama.
Headley had identified to the NIA the voices of the Pakistani handlers of the 26/11 terrorists who gave them instructions the carnage in Mumbai in November 2008.
