Renuka Chaudhary escorts TRS leaders to meet Congress leadership, slammed
Hyderabad: The TRS on Friday criticised senior Congress leader Renuka Chaudhary and state RLD leader Dileep Kumar for escorting TRS leaders to meet the Congress leadership.
TRS Assembly Floor Leader Etela Rajender took exception to Chaudhary taking the suspended TRS MP Vijayashanti to meet Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Dileep Kumar escorting three party leaders to meet Congress leader Digvijaya Singh.
“Andhra moneybags are involved in the whole episode. It’s a conspiracy to weaken the TRS, but the party is as strong as ever. Mr Dileep Kumar has no business asking the TRS to merge with the Congress. Everyone knows who is the broker involved in taking our party men to the Congress,” he said.
Rajender claimed that Dileep Kumar, who had once publicly claimed that Telangana would not be a reality unless economic interests of Andhra leaders were hit, had now changed his tune seeking their protection.
The party, along with the TJAC launched a low-intensity 'Sadbhavana Yatra' across the region demanding immediate tabling of the Telangana Bill in Parliament to counter the Seemandhra stir. It warned of serious consequences over attacks on Telangana employees including a woman doctor in Seemandhra region and demanded that the government order an inquiry.
The TRS leader also parried questions on the possible TRS-Congress merger stating there would be no discussion on the issue till the T-Bill was passed in Parliament. “We are very careful in view of past experiences on the Telangana issue. While the TRS is extending a hand of friendship to Seemandhra leaders, they are indulging in attacks on T-employees which are reprehensible,” he said.
Mr Rajender also alleged bias against Telangana MPs in Parliament.
“When two TRS MPs staged protests for Telangana, they were warned and asked by both the Congress and the BJP to stop. But when Seemandhra MPs stalled proceedings, BJP leader Mr M. Venkaiah Naidu and others backed them,” he said.
“It’s surprising that while Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj demands a T-Bill in the present Session, Mr Venkaiah Naidu asks how the Congress could rush through with the bifurcation. It shows the BJP’s double standards,” he added.
