Reveller rapes minor girl, hands her `5

An eight-year-old girl and a 17-year-old differently-abled girl were raped in separate incidents near Bengaluru on Monday and Tuesday. The eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an unidentified youth in a school compound behind Vinayaka Theatre in D.J. Halli police limits early on Tuesday.
The victim, a resident of Modi Road in D.J. Halli, had gone with her cousin to witness New Year celebrations near Hussania Masjid on Monday night. The victim’s father Fayaz Pasha and his mother Harima had gone near the party venue and both had seen the children around 11.45 pm. However, Pasha returned home while leaving his mother at the party venue and telling her to bring the kids back home later.
Around 12.20 am, Harima returned home with the girl’s cousin in a state of shock looking for the girl. She told her son that she could not see the girl at the party venue. Pasha, along with his wife Salma, rushed back to the party venue looking for their daughter but was unable to find her. They also looked for her in the vicinity, including in Thangamalai village, but could not find her anywhere, police said.
When they were returning home, the girl too had reached home by then. But since she was in a state of shock, she went to slept without answering her parents.
Pasha, who had to leave for work by 9 am, found that his daughter was running high fever. He asked his wife and mother to take the child to a hospital and headed for work. En route to the hospital, the victim narrated about the entire incident to her mother.
According to the victim, one of the revellers at the party enticed her with chocolates, took her to the school premises behind Vinayaka Theatre and even made her get cigarettes for him. Later, he undressed her and allegedly raped her. He brought her back to the main road and threatened her with dire consequences if she narrated the incident to anybody. The accused escaped after giving her `5, the police said.
