Hyderabad: Madelacheruvu Suri's shooting death today has left Andhra Pradesh tense and producers of Raktha Charitra fighting off 'baseless accusations'.

Suri, who's portrayed by Tamil actor Surya in Raktha Charitra 2, was brutally attacked by his opponents in real life on Monday. He later succumbed to his wounds at a hospital in Hyderabad.

The question soon popped out - has RGV's controversy-ridden film unnecessarily revived rivalries in the notorious Rayalaseema region?

“What happened is truly unfortunate but it’s ridiculous to arrive at such baseless conclusions,” said Rajkumar, co-producer of the film.

RGV’s Raktha Charitra triggered enough protests on varied counts. First, the controversy of depicting late NTR as a scheming politician evoked protests about Raktha Charitra 1 and forced producers to chop of `objectionable’ scenes at some places.
