Riyaz Bhatka gave explosives for Hyderabad blasts: NIA
Hyderabad: The National Investigation Agency has alleged that the absconding Indian Mujahideen terror suspect Riyaz Bhatkal had supplied explosive materials for the Dilsukhnagar bomb blasts.
The NIA raided the IM’s Qutubullapur hideout in Cyberabad where the bombers had stayed pretending to be students.
The explosive materials reached Hyderabad in the third week of January 2013 before the blasts in February. The NIA recovered Material Objects (MOs) connected to bombs like Ammonium Nitrate from Mangalore and from Qutbullapur in the city.
The NIA in its application seeking remand for IM co-founder Yasin Bhatkal in the special court for NIA cases at Nampally said, “The accused Asadullah Akhtar alias Tabrez has revealed his involvement along with Waqas and Tahseen Akhtar in the Dilsukhnagar bomb blasts at Hyderabad as per the instructions of Riyaz Bhatkal. Asadullah confessed that Riyaz Bhatkal had supplied the explosives through unknown persons. The involvement of Yasin in the offence was also revealed.”
The NIA said Asadullah Akhtar and other accused individuals were involved in the planting of bombs on February 21 at Dilsukhnagar as part of a large conspiracy planned by A-1 Riyaz Bhatkal and A-5 Yasin Bhatkal.
The confession of Asadullah Akhtar (A-2) led to the recovery of Ammonium Nitrate at Mangalore and Cyberabad pointing out that memos were prepared for the discovery of those facts relating to the disclosure.
During interrogation Yasin Bhatkal confessed about his involvement in the conspiracy along with the other accused, especially Riyaz Bhatkal, who is now in Pakistan.
Yasin also revealed that in order to execute their plan for carrying out terror attacks in India, he used to have regular contact through his email ID hbhaddur@yahoo.com.
