RLD-PEACE PARTY ALLIANCE DIES A QUIET DEATH

The much-publicized alliance between the Rashtriya Lok Dal and Peace Party in Uttar Pradesh is over even before the leaders could start negotiations for the Assembly polls.

The Peace Party has gone ahead and announced its candidate for the Baghpat seat which is considered to be RLD president Choudhury Ajit Singh’s bastion. With this, the Peace Party has sent out a clear signal that the alliance which led to the formation of the Lok Kranti Morcha in March this year is over for all practical purposes.
According to a Peace Party leader, the RLD showed a clear lack of interest in continuing in the morcha and though it was leading the alliance, it never bothered to hold any talks with the Peace party leaders over seat sharing and other issues. The Lok Kranti Morcha was scheduled to hold joint rallies in UP from August.
