Road rage kills two in Delhi and Lucknow
Road rage took the lives of two persons in two separate incidents in Delhi and Lucknow.
In Delhi, an auto rickshaw driver was allegedly beaten to death, while in Lucknow, a man was run over by a jeep.
A 32-year-old auto driver, Rajesh Kumar, was beaten to death after scuffle over a minor road accident in the national capital.
The incident happened late on Thursday night in Outer Delhi’s Vijay Vihar area.
Sources say that the victim Rajesh Kumar’s auto rickshaw got accidentally bumped into an Innova car. This aggravated the passengers of the car.
According to initial reports there were four people and they pulled out Kumar from his vehicle. The youngsters started abusing Kumar for his carelessness.
Then Kumar was mercilessly beaten, dragged on the road by the accused and later hit his head with a stone, leading to his death.
One person who has been arrested is identified as Rahul, while his accomplices are absconding. There are also reports saying that only two were involved in the murder.
The accused are said to be youngsters belonging to upper middle class families.
Meanwhile, a 28-year-old man Arjun Upadhyay was run over by a jeep in Lucknow.
According to police sources Arjun got into a scuffle with the jeep's driver Rajan Tiwari, after he banged into his car.
Tiwari drove his jeep over Upadhyay when he asked for payment for the damages. Tiwari is absconding after the incident and police suspect that both were under the influence of alcohol.
