Robbers stab man to death
A 22-year-old man was stabbed to death by five assailants in Vijay Vihar area of outer Delhi on Saturday evening. Police officials said the deceased, identified as Ranjit, a driver, was going towards his Rithala residence on Saturday evening in a Maruti Van. “Five unidentified armed assailants intercepted his van on the way and asked him to get out,” a police official said.
The police said Ranjit refused to abandon his vehicle following which two assailants dragged him out and asked him to hand over the cash. “When he resisted, the assailants stabbed him in the abdomen. They took away his cash and belongings,” the official said.
Ranjit started screaming for help, which caught the attention of local residents. A PCR call was made and he was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Meanwhile, an 18-year-old student, who was assaulted by some youth nine days ago in Mukherjee Nagar died on Sunday.
The police said that Vicky, who was pursuing a degree through correspondence from Delhi University, was beaten up by four unidentified assailants following a minor scuffle on December 10. He was admitted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital from where he was shifted to AIIMS later.
“He died at AIIMS during his treatment,” the official said.
