Robotic legs may help Jogi walk
Former chief minister of Chhattisgarh and senior Congress leader Ajit Jogi, who turned a paraplegic after a serious road accident eight years ago, may soon get freedom from his “wheelchair-dependent life” as experts see the possibility of his walking with robotic legs.
“Experts from Auckland-based Rex Bionics Company, which manufactures robotic legs to help the paraplegics to walk, have conducted various tests on me to find if I could be fitted into e-legs (robotic legs). The results were found favourable. I have been asked to visit the company for trial in the middle of March. I hope to get rid of this wheelchair life soon,” Mr Jogi, the first chief minister of Chhattisgarh, said here on Saturday.
“If everything goes well, then I will be able to stand, walk and go around with the support of robotic legs,” he added. Mr Jogi said he would get a new lease of life.
