Rosaiah resigns as chief minister of AP
K. Rosaiah has resigned as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
"I have submitted my resignation to the Governor. I have done my best as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. No one has asked me to resign, it is my own call," he told the media.
K. Rosaiah had been the AP CM for 14 months.
He's been under pressure from Congress MP from Kadapa, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who recently aired a controversial episode aired on Sakshi TV owned by him, which they feel depicted Congress president, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, in poor light.
Rosaiah met the top brass of the party in New Delhi yesterday, including Sonia Gandhi's political secretary Ahmed Patel and Defence Minister A K Antony.
Senior party leaders Pranab Mukherjee and AK Antony are headed towards Hyderabad.
