Royals to sue French mag over Kate’s topless photos
The British royal family, furious over the publication of topless photographs of Kate Middleton, wife of Prince William, by a Fre-nch magazine, on Friday launched legal action against the magazine owned by an Italian firm.
“St. James’ Palace confirms legal proceedings for breach of privacy have been commenced today in France by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge agai-nst publishers of Closer magazine,” a Clarence Hou-se spokesperson said Frid-ay afternoon. The topless photographs of Kate, printed on the cover and in a five-page spread by Closer, were taken last week while William and Kate were staying at a chateau owned by Lord Linley, the Queen’s nephew, in Provence, Fra-nce, just before their Southeast Asia trip. UK publications have not printed these photos.
