RSS, BJP leaders meet to finalise Bihar poll strategy

Senior leaders of the RSS and the BJP went into a huddle in Patna on Saturday to give final shape to the electoral strategy of the saffron party for the Bihar Assembly elections. The RSS leaders have also reportedly delivered their message to the state BJP leaders on the possible fallout of the upcoming September 24 Ayodhya verdict of the Allahabad high court and have asked the party leaders to go to the polls without being apologetic about the issue of the “Hindutva”.

Senior RSS leader Bhaiyaji Joshi, who is also a joint secretary of the organisation, along with top state brass went into a huddle with Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, state BJP president C. P. Thakur, state Cabinet ministers Nand Kishore Yadav and Ashwani Kumar Choube. The close door meting was also attended by Bihar in-charge of the BJP Dharmendra Pradhan, who in the day met the prospective party candidates also.
Though the RSS and BJP leaders have maintained that they would not be speaking on the issue of the Ayodhya verdict till it is pronounced, the hardliners within the state BJP are reported to be gearing up to go aggressive on the issue in the Bihar Assembly elections. This move of some of the BJP leaders is likely to put the Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar again in a spot, after the Gujrat chief minister Narendra Modi issue had strained the relations between them. Top RSS leaders in their parleys with the state BJP leaders have reportedly conveyed the stand of the organisation on the Ayodhya case.
“Whatever be the verdict of the Allahabad high court in the Ayodhya case, it will have its bearing on the Bihar Assembly elections. We will either be bringing out victory or protest march depending on the verdict going in favour or against the party’s campaign to build a grand temple at Ayodhya,” stated a senior Bihar BJP leader, who added that the party workers are awaiting the verdict quite eagerly.
The RSS leaders in their parleys with the state BJP leaders have also reportedly conveyed that the two organisations would work in close co-ordination for the state elections.
“The RSS is full geared up to back the bid of the BJP to gain another mandate in Bihar. We will work very closely,” added the party leader.
