RSS censures Gadkari on loose talk
New Delhi, July 25: In the wake of the BJP chief, Mr Nitin Gadkari, using derogatory language against political opponents, the RSS has asked him to “think twice” before choosing words to attack rivals.
His unparliamentary remarks had created so much controversy that BJP was left embarrassed. Sources said the issue was taken up with the RSS top brass by a section of party leaders who were of the view that such remarks by the BJP national president has dented party’s image.
Mr Gadkari is said to be the RSS’ choice for the top post in the party, though the former had denied it on numerous occasions.
He had used derogatory language against SP and RJD chiefs as well as the senior Congress leader, Mr Mr Digvijay Singh, for which he received flak from other political outfits, with Congress reacting to his remarks as “utterly uncivilised, utterly irresponsible and lacking political courtesy”.
Party sources disclosed after the RSS asked Mr Gadkari to have control over the language, Mr Gadkari even discussed the issue with BJP top leaders.
He was advised that party had received flak from not only political opponents but from within the party.
The BJP top brass told party chief that such remarks would only bring adversities to the already crisis ridden party.
