RSS patriarch Sudarshan passes away

RSS patriarch K.S. Sudarshan died of cardiac arrest here early on Saturday morning. He was 81 and is survived by a brother.

The former RSS chief, who settled down in Bhopal after he quit the Sangh post on March 21, 2009, owing to illness, breathed his last at his birthplace, Raipur, where he had arrived on Thursday evening to attend a book-release function.
“He suffered a massive stroke after he returned from a 20-minute morning walk and collapsed at Jagr-uti Bhavan (state RSS headquarters) here at around 6.30 am,” said Dr Rajiv Bhatia, his personal doctor.
His death shocked the saffron fraternity acr-oss the country. Seve-ral senior BJP leaders, including Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh, his ministerial colleagues and a host of senior Sangh leaders, paid tribute to Sudarshan.
