With the judgment in the Ayodhya title suits expected on September 24, the top leadership of RSS and VHP on Thursday held series of meetings. The RSS on Thursday called upon the government to explore the possibility of bringing legislation facilitating the construction of temple at the disputed site. The Sangh parivar had made it clear that they are in favour of construction of the Ram Mandir at the disputed site in Ayodhya. It could be mentioned that RSS supremo Mohan Bhagwat had already indicated that if the verdict is not in the favour of Ram Mandir, they would explore legal options including moving the Supreme Court. He had also said that RSS’ response to the verdict will be “within the limits of law, Constitution and in a democratic way.” The RSS had asked its affiliates including the BJP not to make any controversial statement on the issue till the verdict is announced.
Also, the Special Bench of the Allahabad high court has called the lawyers of the parties to the dispute on Friday to find ways for resolving the case through reconciliation.
Senior VHP leaders Ashok Singhal and Pravin Togadia were among the leaders who met Mr Bhagwat today at the RSS headquarters in Delhi. On Wednesday, senior BJP leaders including party chief Nitin Gadkari, former party chief Rajnath Singh and senior leader M.M. Joshi had met Mr Bhagwat on the same issue.
When asked to comment on pending Ayodhya verdict, RSS leader Ram Madhav said the organisation is hopeful that the court verdict would be “in favour of building the temple.”
He also said that the best way to solve the issue would be through a legislation by Parliament. “We call upon the government to explore the possibility of bringing legislation facilitating the construction of temple,” Mr Madhav said. He reiterated the Sangh’s stand that it favoured construction of a “grand Ram mandir “ at the disputed site.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
