RSS wants BJP to win back Kalyan
The Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) wants the BJP to continue its efforts to win back former chief minister Kalyan Singh and also keep the Bahujan Samaj Party in good humour.
The RSS feels that both could prove useful n the post poll scenario in Uttar Pradesh. According to sources in the RSS, the Sangh has categorically asked the BJP leaders not to react vociferously to the anti-BJP statements being issued by Mr Kalyan Singh and continue making efforts to persuade the veteran leaders for an alliance, if not a return to the BJP.
“The Sangh believes that Kalyan Singh is still a force to reckon with in UP politics, at least, in the Lodh dominated belt in central UP, and an alliance with him could be a possibility in the post poll scenario. The Sangh leadership has asked BJP president Nitin Gadkari to continue efforts to convince the veteran leader,” said a functionary in the RSS.
For the same reason, the Sangh also wants the BJP to keep its options on for a post poll alliance with the BSP if no party gets a majority on its own. The BJP leaders have been directed not to make any personal attack on UP chief minister Mayawati even though they may continue with political attacks on her.
