Rudy or ravi tipped as BJP ‘FACe’ in delhi
With Mr Rajnath Singh at the helm of affairs, it’s time for an organisational reshuffle in the BJP. Discussions are now on to get a new team in place. Lobbying has also begun among leaders for a suitable berth.
With the Delhi Assembly elections due by the end of 2013, the BJP is considering projecting either Rajiv Pratap Rudy or Ravishankar Prasad as the party’s CM candidate. This is because of the huge “Poorvan-chal” votebank in Delhi, estimated to be almost 25 per cent of the electorate.
Another section of the party, however, wants either Aarti Mehra or Balbir Punj in the light of the city’s “dominant” Punjabi votebank.
On the party reshuffle, it is learnt there is a possibility of bringing in Uma Bharati, Varun Gandhi and G.C. Khanduri as general secretaries. Resent-ment is also brewing in the party over the dominance of Bihar leaders as spokespersons. Of six spokesperson, three are from Bihar. including Ravishankar Prasad, Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Shahanwaz Hussain.
