Sangh-terror link seen as a conspiracy

The linking of terror groups to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is being condemned and described as a huge conspiracy in the Bharatiya Janata Party-RSS circles in Madhya Pradesh but the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party functionaries here are mostly tightlipped and reluctant to comment on the confessional statement of Swami Aseemanand.
Attempts by this correspondent to evoke a response from ruling BJP functionaries in the state capital have drawn a blank when they were contacted following Swami Aseemanand’s confessional statement that his radical Hindu group was behind the Samjhauta Express, Ajmer Dargah and Malegaon blasts.
Meanwhile, responding to Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh’s demand for handing over the investigation into the murder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh pracharak Sunil Joshi’s murder to the CBI or the NIA, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had categorically stated last week that the state government will not hand over the probe to any central agency.
Joshi was an accused in a Congress leader’s murder case and was also said to be among those behind the Ajmer Dargah blast. He was allegedly murdered by his own associates at Dewas in Madhya Pradesh in December 2007.
The state police had secured the custody of Harshad Solanki, the main accused in the Joshi murder case after he was arrested by Rajasthan ATS in the second fortnight of December 2010.
Solanki is on judicial remand till Monday and the Dewas police would be urging the court to extend his remand.
Two of Solanki’s accomplices, Anand Raj Katare, a resident of Indore, and Vasudev Parmar, a local Dewas resident, were also arrested on charges of conspiracy and for helping the culprits escape.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
