SC not to interfere in drafting
Even as the drafting of the Lokpal bill by the joint committee of the government and civil society representatives is yet to make the initial headway, the Supreme Court on Friday made it clear that it will not allow creation of any hindrance in the drafting of the legislation by filing petitions raking up “frivolous” issues.
Reminding the counsel for three petitioners, who raised various issues related to the constitution of the joint committee, the Supreme Court said that it would not go beyond the constitutionality and any statutory provision.
