SC REFUSES PETITION On Anna’s arrest
The Supreme Court on Friday declined to entertain a petition raising the issue of Gandhian crusader Anna Hazare’s arrest by Delhi police on August 16 before sitting on a hunger strike in the national capital on the Jan Lokpal Bill issue.
A bench of Justices P. Sathasivam and B.S. Chauhan told former MP and Panthers Party president Bhim Singh, who filed the petition, that it could not be entertained as no body form Anna Hazare’s side or his associate has joined the issue.
“At this juncture when every thing has been amicably settled, should be go into the matter.”

‘Repeated shocks for corruption-free India’
Ralegan Siddhi, Sept. 2: In his first public rally after breaking his 12-day fast, Anna Hazare on Friday attacked the UPA government of “not being serious” in bringing a strong Lokpal and said the ruling dispensation consists of “cunning” persons and a home minister who was “mischievous”.
Mr Hazare urged the people to give “repeated shocks” to the government to end corruption at all levels. “We have to give such repeated shocks to ensure there is a corruption-free India,” Hazare said. — PTI
