SC rejects CBI plea for cancelling BSY’s bail
In a big relief to former Karnataka CM B.S. Yeddyurappa, the Supreme Court on Monday rejected the CBI plea for cancellation of his anticipatory bail granted by the state high court in a mining-related land allotment case.
A bench of Justices T.S. Thakur and F.M. Ibrahim Kalifulla dismissed the CBI plea while asking additional solicitor-general Mohan Prasaran, appearing for the agency, “What for, you want this man to be inside (the jail).” The CBI is investigating the case against Mr Yeddyurappa following an order by the forest bench on May 11.
