SC tells CBI: Continue Mulayam assets probe

The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the Central Bureau of Investigation to “independently” carry on its investigation into the disproportionate assets case against Samajwadi Party chief and MP Mulayam Singh Yadav, his elder son and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and younger son Prateek Yadav.

The apex court, however, dropped the CBI probe against Lok Sabha MP Dimple Yadav, wife of Akhilesh, saying she did not hold any public office and was a private person holding no position at the time the case was filed.
