Scared to live in this insane land: Mohanlal

Malayalam’s favourite actor Mohanlal is “scared to live in this ‘insane’ land where people who kill and practise killing exist.”

Mohanlal stated this in his blog on his 52nd birthday on Monday, expressing his concern over T.P. Chandrasekharan’s murder, which he said had upset him.

In a letter titled “Two Mothers,” in his own handwriting in his blog titled “The Complete Actor,” the superstar also expressed his apprehension over the state turning into a mental asylum, a comment made long ago by Swami Vivekananda about the state.

“I am scared, distressed and disturbed to live in this land,” he wrote. “A dark cloud of sorrow has cast a shadow on my birthday...I cannot celebrate my birthday since I am worried about two mothers here.

One is my mother who has been lying unconscious after a haemorrhage three months ago. The other is the mother of T.P. Chandrasekharan who was brutally murdered by insane people,” Mohanlal wrote.

“I don’t know him personally. But, he must be my age. Our mothers would be the same age too. I know how my mother feels when I get hurt. So I can imagine how his mother will be feeling after her son was butchered.”

He also wrote that he did not want to discuss murder politics, but was only concerned about the brutality involved in it.
