School bus mows down B.Com student
Bengaluru: A final year B.Com student died on the spot after a school van rammed into his motorbike and ran over him near Moodalapalya Circle on Nagarabavi Main Road on Friday morning.
The deceased, Ravikiran (20), was studying in KLE College, Rajajinagar. He was the son of Eshwar Rao, a resident of Shivanandanagar in Moodalapalya.
Ravikiran was on his way to college when the school van belonging to a private school in Rajajrajeshwarinagar hit his bike from behind around 7.20 am near Moodalapalya Circle. When he fell from the bike, the van ran over his head killing him on the spot.
"The school van was allegedly being driven rashly and dangerously causing the accident. The van was going to pick up the schoolchildren and no students were in the van at at the time of the accident. Ravikiran was to pick up his friend and then go to the college," the police said.
Vijayanagar traffic police have registered a case and have arrested the van driver, Kumaraswamy, in this connection.
